Earl Montessori brought its teaching team together for the Annual Montessori Training 2026—a two-day professional development programme focused on strengthening Montessori knowledge, classroom practice and the ability to support children from Infant–Toddler through to CASA.

On 8–9 September 2026, our team came together for the Annual Montessori Training 2026—a two-day professional development programme focused on supporting children from Infant–Toddler (0–3 years) through to CASA (3–6 years).
The training provided an opportunity to revisit Montessori principles, strengthen our understanding of child development and reflect on how Montessori practice supports children in the classroom.
Day 1: Following the Child in the Infant–Toddler Environment
The first day focused on Montessori education for children aged 0–3 years, under the theme “Following the Child.”
Teachers explored how to support children’s growing independence, coordination, language, concentration and understanding of the world through a carefully prepared environment and a respectful approach.
The session covered key areas including Sensitive Periods, the Prepared Environment, the Role of the Teacher and Observation Techniques. Through discussion and reflection, teachers considered how observation helps them understand each child’s interests, abilities, challenges and readiness for new experiences.
Exploring Montessori Materials for Toddlers
Teachers also revisited Montessori materials across areas including Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Language and Mathematics.
The session focused on understanding the purpose of the materials, refining presentations and considering how activities can support children’s concentration, independence and self-regulation.
Day 2: Supporting the CASA Child
The second day focused on the CASA environment for children aged 3–6 years, under the theme “From Concrete to Abstract Understanding.”
Teachers explored how children build on their early independence and develop deeper understanding through concrete experiences.
Learning in the CASA Environment
Teachers explored Montessori materials across Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Language and Mathematics, while reflecting on presentation techniques, readiness and ways to respond to individual children’s needs.
The sessions encouraged collaboration and shared learning, reminding teachers that Montessori practice requires careful observation, thoughtful preparation and a responsive approach.
Bringing Montessori Practice to Life
The Annual Montessori Training 2026 was an opportunity for our teachers to reflect on how Montessori principles and materials are applied in everyday classroom practice.
Montessori education requires teachers to understand not only what to present, but also when to present it, how to present it and why it matters.
Through theory, discussion and practical reflection, our teachers strengthened their understanding of how to support children at different stages of development.
